The Illich Foundation was named in memory of Illich Yermain Vasquez Rivera, who passed away June 10, 2010. He was a very special little boy, brought to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, by MHL in the fall of 2007. He was eventually diagnosed with TTD (trichothyodystrophy), an incurable illness. MHL continued to support Illich's many medical needs throughout his life. He will be dearly missed by his family and all the friends he made in his short lifetime. The Illich Foundation is run by Marny Rivera, Illich's aunt and hopes to serve other children whose medical needs cannot be met by other means.

Sam helps malnourished boy try on some new flip flops
MHL purchased 190 pairs of shoes and flip flops to be distributed to children who were in need of shoes. Some of these were distributed to the children in the malnutrition center in Sulaco.

Each village is given books to be used in their local schools. This past year MHL donated almost $200 worth of Spanish books.
